Miniature Dollhouse collector : "Bowie" knife
Here is my first experiment in using tempering steel. I used a kind of steel used to make drill bits, and that can be tempered in a bath oil, after heating it to cherry red.
The blade is made of a single part, and two brass rivets goes through to fix the handle.
The knife handle and the case are made of ebony, with strengthening brass pieces.
Thanks to the quality of the steel used, the knife edge is as sharp as a rasor.
And still it's very small. The equivalent of a 1 foot knife. There is Bowie knifes way bigger. Maybe a future project...
